TOURS

Main Site Tours
Since starting tours at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, we have welcomed hundreds of thousands of people to learn about our recent scientific discoveries, the achievements of our scientists and engineers and the impact of breakthrough Livermore technologies.
However, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our employees and visitors. For that reason, in-person tours were paused at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and remain on hiatus as we evaluate and update our tour program. More information will be provided here when the program restarts. Thank you for your understanding.

Take a Virtual Tour of the Lab
Livermore Site and Site 300 Superfund Tours
Lawrence Livermore’s Environmental Restoration Department hosts Superfund tours for the general public at the Livermore Site and Site 300. These annual tours provide a close-up look at the ongoing effort to remedy legacy soil and groundwater contamination at each site dating as far back as the 1940s when the Laboratory’s Livermore Site served as a U.S. naval air station. As with the Main Site community tours, the Superfund tours are on hiatus. Information will be provided here and in other media when they resume.

The Discovery Center
The Discovery Center provides in-person and virtual visitors with a window into our science and technology. Our exhibits are designed to excite the next generation of researchers about new innovations and the work that we do at the Lab.
The Discovery Center is open noon to 4 p.m. on weekdays (closed on major holidays), and also offers free "Fun with Science" field trips to 5th grade students from local elementary schools.
Tour the Lab Online
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invites high school teachers to bring their class for a virtual tour of the National Ignition Facility (NIF) or the National Atmospheric Release Advisory Center (NARAC).
Students of all ages can benefit from our Scientist in the Classroom program, which connects LLNL scientists and engineers with students in their virtual classroom.
